Recruitment of specific skilled workers

This is a work qualification newly established from April 2019.

What are specific skilled workers?

Those who graduate from technical intern trainees and complete No. 2 or 3 can be exempted from the specific skill written examination and can transition to specific skill No. 1.

Specified Skilled Worker No. 1 allows long-term employment for up to 5 years, and stable employment can be expected.

Unlike technical intern trainees and part-time international students, there is no time limit, and if it is within the scope of the Labor Standards Act, it is possible to work overtime and work on holidays.

How to accept specific skilled foreigners

There are two main acceptance patterns

 

A.Foreigners other than technical intern trainees

If it is not a transfer from a technical intern trainee, the foreigner must pass the "skill test" and "Japanese test". Japan domestic

International students residing in Japan and overseas residents can be accepted if they pass the examination and interview with the company.

 

B. Transition from technical intern trainees

If a technical intern trainee who has successfully completed Technical Intern Training No. 2 or 3 moves to a specific skill in the same field, a "skill test"

"Japanese language test" is exempted. Combining the 5 years of technical training 1 to 3 and the 5 years of specific skill 1,Accepted for up to 10 years in totalIt is also possible. We provide a matching service that connects people who have completed technical intern training in Japan with companies.

Flow of acceptance of specific skilled foreigners

  • Have a system to support foreigners (e.g. support in a language that foreigners can understand)

  • Appropriate plan to support foreigners (Regarding support for No. 1 specified skilled foreigners)

Registration support organization

An organization that creates and implements a support plan on behalf of the host organization, and has the following criteria.

  • The support organization itself is appropriate (e.g., no immigration or labor law violations within 5 years)

  • Have a system to support foreigners (e.g. support in a language that foreigners can understand)
